A few months ago a lady called at our office to ask for help with food and clothing, we soon learned that she could not read or write and always wanted to be able to read a novel. An amazing Bash volunteer soon found out she was dyslexic and has started teaching her to read and write, today we got our thank you and I’m choked at how far this lovely lady has come.
This is an other letter we received from a lovely lady who turned up at rock bottom...
Bash local and surrounding homeless,
Bash has helped me in many ways, supported me when everything around me fell apart I had nowhere to live and didn’t know what I was going to do I ended up homeless sofa surfing with friends and someone told me about bash and I’m glad they did. They helped me sort things out, gave me food parcels and helped putting my things into storage for weeks because I had nowhere to put them. Bash gave me an emergency number to ring so I wasn’t walking the streets all night and someone would make sure I was taken to a bed and breakfast if I ever needed it. When I got my own place, they helped me with furniture. I had nothing, now I have my own place and I’m a lot happier. If bash hadn’t of been there I don’t know what id of done, I wouldn’t have got through it on my own, they are all great people who care a lot and really help people who need it, there should be more people about who are nice, honest, caring and amazing people. Id like to say thank you so much to everyone for all the help and support and kindness, because without you id of not got through it and I don’t know where I’d of ended up. Thanks. “
